SCARBOROUGH SOUTHWEST
Ontario Liberal Candidate · Scarborough Southwest
A Stronger Scarborough.
A Fairer Ontario.
Mahmuda Nasrin is running to be your Ontario Liberal Candidate for Scarborough Southwest.
Ontario Liberal Nomination - Scarborough Southwest
My name is Mahmuda Nasrin—a community worker, teacher, and immigrant who has lived, worked, and taught across Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, and Canada. I hold advanced degrees in English and TESOL, and have served as a university professor, researcher, and writer with international publications.
Today, I am a TESL Ontario–certified teacher, an Ontario-certified social worker, and an RCIC, running CanBangla Immigration Services while actively supporting newcomers in their settlement journey.
I’ve raised my family here in Scarborough Southwest. I’ve lived the same daily realities—rising rent, increasing transit costs, and the constant pressure of making ends meet while raising children. I know what it feels like to work hard and still struggle.
That’s why I’m running—not as a politician, but as a mother, teacher, and community advocate who believes in fairness and opportunity.
I’m fighting for:
Affordable housing so families don’t have to choose between rent and foodA living wage (over $18/hour) so full-time work truly supports a family50% transit fare cuts to ease the cost of getting to workStrong community food programs so no child goes hungryFree pharmacare because healthcare is a right
